Kombucha Making Workshop
In this experience, I will teach the process of making kombucha through a hands-on workshop. Guests will leave with an understanding of how to continue to brew and ferment Kombucha tea on their own with detailed instructions. Guests will arrive at my commercial kitchen and be offered tea and healthy nibbles. The class will cover a short history on fermentation and the health benefits to consuming fermented foods on a regular basis. The bulk of the class is spent preparing a gallon of kombucha for fermenting, and preparing a secondary ferment in order to flavor and add natural carbonation to the kombucha. We will go over the kombucha recipe, equipment, pro-tips, flavor-combinations and much more in detail. Guests will leave with both the starter culture liquid and Scoby culture necessary to begin and ferment their own batch at home. From this starter culture, on-going batches of kombucha can be made. Guests will also take home a glass growler filled with home-made mixed berry kombucha.
